Engaging Community in your Business

Community is a feeling of fellowship or a group that shares similar attitudes or goals.  Social media can help grow community and help businesses grow within a community.  The great thing about social media is that the only barriers that exist are the ones you build.  Many businesses use each other’s services, so why not strengthen your community by sharing this partnership on social media.

Team up with other businesses and share each other’s pages, bundle special deals, or even co-sponsor events and let people know you are working together. For example, during prom season, the local jewelry store is working with the hair salon next door to spark up each other’s businesses. During Christmas, a local auto body shop donated $1 to the local animal shelter for every Facebook like  it received on their page or the animal shelter page. The followers to both of their pages drastically increased.

This type of cooperative advertising will give your business and other community businesses added exposure and demonstrate a strong sense of community support. It is an affordable “win, win” for everyone!
