4 Copywriting Secrets for Facebook & Instagram Ads

Do you want to know a secret when it comes to Facebook and Instagram ads? There are certain words you may be using in your copywriting that Facebook (which owns Instagram) will reject or make your ad more expensive. Here are four tips I’ve learned:

1) Avoid using too much “YOU or YOUR” in your text. Facebook will reject or make your ad more expensive.  For example –
Before: Are YOU ready to really grow YOUR business with Facebook ads?
After: Free Training on how top businesses use Facebook ads.

2) Avoid “Money Talk”. Facebook does not like the word money. For example,
Before: Getting a bigger business is all about money mindset.
After: Growing a bigger business is all about abundance mindset.

3) Reframe Sensitive Topics. Facebook wants its user to have a positive experience. They will pick up if you’re using negative phrases to single out users like “lose weight” or “do you suffer from…” Reframe your text positively like “Feel strong and confident.”

Also, avoid images with close-ups of specific body parts or before-and-after photos.  Facebook won’t approve ads that use images that excessively focus on a person’s body or any given body part (ex: focusing on abs, belly fat, teeth). According to Facebook “This can make users feel bad about themselves, and goes against our core value of fostering a positive global community. 4) Avoid Claims. The one question you should ask yourself if stating a claim is, “Can it be true for every single person?”
Before: “Learn how to make $10k more”
After: “Learn how to earn more with our free training.”

Facebook and Instagram ads are the best way to grown nearly any type of business.  There is a lot more that goes into running successful advertising campaigns, such as A-B testing, choosing a target market, and consistency.
